Azhar Karim identifies as legally blind and partially sighted, having lived with his disability for almost 60 years. After working for more than three decades in education, training and the airline industry, he now works in the non-profit sector serving people with disabilities as Director of Finance and Shared Services at DEEN Support Services. His passion is to advocate for the rights of people with disabilities and ensure that they are provided with a barrier free, inclusive and accessible Canada where they can live an independent life with dignity and prosperity. He participates in several activities that promote the cause of accessibility and inclusivity.
