Shenaz Kermalli is a freelance journalist and teaches journalism at University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies. She is a former producer with BBC News, CBC News and Al Jazeera English. Her writing can be found in The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, CTV News, CBC News, The Guardian, Foreign Policy, Middle East Eye, The Independent (UK) and the Ottawa Citizen, among others. Shenaz is currently studying Islamic theology part-time at University of Toronto’s Emmanuel College.
