Mark your calendars for Aug. 31 & Sep. 1, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm! In partnership with Abu Huraira Center, we’re delighted to offer a two-day teacher training program with experts Dr. Fadwa Elashi, Beena Ahmed, and Inas Abusheikha.

Why is Sound Vision Canada training teachers? We’re training educators so that children attending Islamic school:
1. Fall in love with our Creator and feel attached in their hearts to our deen.

Spiritual Preparation of the Teacher
Nurturing the Whole Child
Building a Positive Classroom Culture
Designing Engaging Lessons
Training Learning Objectives:
1. To learn about the teaching qualities of the Prophet (PBUH)
2. To engage in self-reflection
3. To learn how to engage the whole child and develop purposeful, creative lessons
4. To learn strategies we can use to develop a positive classroom culture
5. To learn how to create a welcoming and inclusive classroom
6. To introduce a framework for classroom behaviour management
7. To share experiences and practical knowledge
8. To encourage ongoing steps towards personal and spiritual growth
Attendees will receive the Sound Vision Canada teacher training workbook and other resources. A Sound Vision Canada teacher training certificate will be issued upon completion of the program.
Educators, school administrators, homeschooling parents, and aspiring teachers are all welcome!

Dr. Fadwa Elashi is a former assistant professor of developmental psychology with five years of experience teaching courses on Educational Psychology, Learning Through Play, and Child Development. She has published several peer-reviewed research articles in the field of child development and often reviews manuscripts for consideration for publication in major academic journals. Her profound passion for fostering optimal and equitable learning environments for all children is what drove her to establish Nectar Education.

Beena Ahmed has been an educator for 15 years and currently works with the Peel Board of Education. She holds a Masters in Curriculum Pedagogy and Teacher Development from OISE. She started her career working at an Islamic School teaching various grades, later being promoted to take on a school leadership position as a Vice-Principal. Teacher professional growth and development is a passion for her and she continues to work with different organizations that invest in promoting teaching as a lifelong learning process. Beena currently holds a position with the Peel Board of Education.

Inas Abusheikha is a trilingual mother passionate about children’s education and morally centred entertainment. She has been teaching for the past 15 years and is an experienced trainer on teaching second languages. Through Journey with Inas, she leads a variety of programs, courses for educators, and her Arabic educational children’s show, Fusحa!
